Rennes, the capital of Brittany, is a city that combines tradition and modernity. Located just 1 hour 25 minutes from Paris by train thanks to the high-speed line, Rennes is easily accessible and well connected to other major French cities.

Rennes offers a well-developed public transport network, making it easy to travel throughout the city. Transport in the city of Rennes is managed by the STAR company. Where possible, we recommend the use of public transport.

🚇 By metro and bus

The city of Rennes has two automatic metro lines (lines A and B).

From the Rennes train station (station “Gare”) , the CentraleSupélec Rennes campus is served by line B (station “Atalante”, direction “Via Silva”).

Upon exiting the Atalante station, follow the signs for Avenue de la Boulaie and the CentraleSupélec campus. The campus is approximately a 5-minute walk from the station.

It is also possible to reach the campus by bus (line C4) from the city center (approximately 20 minutes). Get off at the Atalante stop to reach the campus.

🚗 By car

From the Rennes ring road (N136):

  • Take exit no. 3 towards “Cesson-Sévigné/Sud”.
  • Follow the D386 towards “ZI Sud-Est/Cesson-Sévigné”.
  • Continue on the D386 until Avenue de la Boulaie.
  • Follow the signs for “CentraleSupélec” to reach the campus.

Visitor parking is available near the main campus entrance.
Please follow the signs to the designated parking spaces.

There are plenty of options available to reach Rennes from the UK:

  • Ferry from Portsmouth to Saint Malo then train to Rennes.
  • Flight from London Heathrow or Gatwick, or from Southampton.
  • Eurostar from London to Paris then TGV from Paris to Rennes.
